Hold the cap with the body pointed down and the hinges towards you between your thumb and pinkie 
(see the pic). With a downward and backward motion spin the zippo around into the cradle of your 
fingers. Now your thumb should be resting on the flint. Simply strike and light. 
Use your pinkie to close.
